Case Studies
Pure as Air®, air quality management
installations
Hospital Medical Wards
The Pure as Air
system
installed at Bankstown Hospital Intensive Care Ward since August
2007 and Medical Wards Level 1 & 2 since December 2005 is protecting these areas from unwanted microbial outbreaks and odours.

Libraries
The Pure as Air system installed at Gardiner Library at the
John Hunter Hospital, Gordon Bradley Lowe Medical Library at
the
Royal Hospital for Women and
Bankstown
Hospital Library has
demonstrated
measurable improvements in air quality and a dramatic decrease in
bacteria, mould and odours. In addition to creating a more pleasant
environment for library users and staff, valuable medical texts and other
library books are being protected from highly damaging mould contaminants.
|
Hospital Trials
The Pure as Air
system
was trialled in a hospital medical recovery wards and results showed a 42%
reduction in mould and bacteria. The Ward Sister and nursing staff
completed a written survey and commented on how much fresher the air
smelt, observing a significant reduction in odours where other types of
deodorisers had failed.

Hospitality Industry
Benefits have been noted in the hospitality
industry, including Central
Coast Leagues Club.
These situations provided an especially heavy challenge to any air
purification system.
Heavy
concentrations of cigarette smoke in gaming areas, frequent alcohol and
other spillages on carpets, coupled with offensive odours emanating from
kitchens and sanitary systems have all been controlled using the Pure
as Air system.

Office Administration
The Pure as Air
system installed at Bankstown
Hospital level 4, Office Administration
treats approx. 5,200 sq. metres of floor area. The Physical Resources
Dept. at Bankstown Hospital conducted an internal survey report, which the
staff working in this area commented how fresh the air smells and the
general feeling of wellbeing.
Pure
as Air system
installation for Stockland
Properties at level
1 office in Miller Street; North Sydney
following staff complaints of stale odours emanating from the food shops
on the ground level. The odour control was evident immediately and had no
further complaints since installation.

Laboratories
Since August 2003 a Pure
as Air system
was installed at AMS
Laboratories
of Rockdale
NSW for the concerns of unwanted outbreaks of
micro-organisms in the main laboratory area.
|
Food Industry
Further
scientific evidence of the unit's effectiveness has come from within the
food processing industry where the presence of unwanted yeasts and moulds
can disrupt the production of foodstuffs. The most recent of these
installations was at Sanitarium
Health Foods at Berkeley Vale,
Central Coast
where significant decreases in mould, wild yeast and bacteria counts were
recorded just two weeks after installing a Pure
as Air
system.

Trade Waste
One
of the most tested senarios for Pure as Air system is whether Micro-Sol
could combat the most putrid type of odour from a medical trade waste. At John
Hunter Hospital putrid odours were eminating from the trade waste room
causing unpleasant odours in the main air conditioning plant room and
external areas to be drawn through the air intakes of air conditioning
systems effecting rooms interiors. A trial was conducted with the logic in
mind of controlling air borne bacteria should effectively control the
odours produced this resulted in a fix installation since November
2006.
